Growing
(Just like the beautiful Carissa shrub that grows strong and resilient)
The name Carissa holds a beautiful significance that perfectly captures what we stand for. Derived from the Greek word charis, Carissa primarily means "grace" or "beloved". This reflects our commitment to nurturing each child with grace and treating every student as truly beloved.
Interestingly, Carissa is also the name of an evergreen shrub native to tropical and southern Africa. This remarkable plant produces stunning white flower petals and is known for its resilience, particularly its resistance to tough coastal winds. The Carissa shrub is beautiful, fast-growing, strong, and upright - qualities that beautifully mirror what we hope to cultivate in our students.
Just as the Carissa plant thrives in challenging conditions and grows with strength and beauty, we believe our learners can flourish with the right support, growing into resilient, graceful individuals who can weather life's storms whilst maintaining their inner beauty and strength.
Like our namesake, we believe in growing - continuously developing, adapting, and thriving. Every child who walks through our doors is beloved and treated with grace, nurtured to grow strong and beautiful, just like the resilient Carissa flower. Together, we work tirelessly to improve the lives of our students and strengthen our communities, empowering every child to reach their full potential.
